My team is living on a literal mountain, a 45 minute walk away from any civilization. It’s BEAUTIFUL. And not at all what I pictured ministry would look like lol. Pretty much everything I said last week about what we would be doing? We were wronggggg.
Prayer Mountain is basically a retreat for people to go and pray. There’s 2 fully built cabins, and a small half-built cabin where we are living. It has two rooms: kitchen and bedroom. The 6 girls on my team are sharing the 3 twin beds in the cabin, and the boys are in tents outside. Here’s some pictures:
Cooking 3 meals a day for 10 people in a kitchen that we barely all fit in has been an adventure 🙂
Our job on the mountain so far has been to help develop it (bushwhacking paths, raking, organizing firewood, etc) and to pray. Dar Para Dar, the non-profit that we’re partnering with, is all about prayer. I’m writing this from the Prayer House, a ministry of Dar Para Dar. This is our second day spent at the Prayer House, worshiping and praying all day long. As far as I know, our ministry is going to continue to be these two things, along with a couple of days of house visits to some mountain villages.

In May, I wrote my first blog post, and I said that the anthem God gave me for this trip was, “I will do whatever I can to build the house that holds Your praise.” I was moved to tears earlier today realizing how incredibly fitting this is to what my team is doing now. God is so cool for that.
Things to pray for this week: that we would be steadfast in what God is asking us to do, that God would give us words and boldness to minister to families in house visits, and that the rat we live with would leave!
